Before beginning this class I already had my own twitter. I have had it for a while. I really dont use it all that often, but I go through these little phases where I am always on it. Usually if my Twitter is updated I'm not even on the website, it is probably coming from my cell phone. Honestly, I dont think that I can even remember the last time I was on the actual website. As for using Twitter in this classroom setting and context, it didnt really happen. I dont really see a use for it in the classroom because I can just use email.
In my personal opinioin I dont believe that Twitter is a very useful tool for educational purposes at all. If I were to have a problem or something I would be much more likely to email for a response rather that use Twitter. I think that because there are so many resources for students to recieve information and get answers to questions that Twitter usually is quickly forgotten.

Seriously, I used to be in LOVE with Twitter. And then I got super annoyed that it would wake me up in the middle of the night (because my phone is ALWAYS on) so I stopped getting the updates to my phone. And now I forget that it exists. I even have it in my bookmark bar on my computer and I totally pass it over to go to other equally addictive websites.
ReplyDeleteI think that there is some merit to it somewhere in the classroom, but I think that's a college classroom, not grade school. What do you think about that idea?
